Each one of us has an inner child - which is defined in popular psychology as an individual's childlike aspect - who '' makes '' us behave and react to certain circumstances in a specific way based on the experiences and the knowledge you learned as a child. it's their own way to '' protect '' us from the '' outside '' world . Regardless of the how '' bad '' or ''good'' the reactions are .
I believe that every human being have experienced traumas in their childhood or still experience them , So either we're aware of what happened in the past and how we were effected by them or not , we live by the consequences of them .
Try answering those questions , the more you say "yes" the more you need to consider healing your inner child :
- Are you a people-pleaser ?
- Do you often find yourself feeling guilty for saying no to things that don't serve you ?
- Do you find it difficult to start or finish a task ?
- Do you avoid conflicts at all costs ?
- Do you feel that you're not close to one of your parents or one of them ?
- Do you feel afraid of being under the spotlight ?
- Do you constantly criticize yourself ?
- Do you experience anxiety every time you want to start something new ?
- Do you tend to sabotage every relationship in your life ?
- Do you feel that there's something wrong with you ?
- Do you have too rigid or no boundaries at all ?
- Do you tend to distrust yourself and/or others ?
